RECIPE #3: PINOY BISTEK(BeefSteak)

Enjoy this classic protein-rich Pinoy dish with a serving of hot white rice - perfect for lunch or dinner!
INGREDIENTS
- 4 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 pc large onion, cut into rings
- 1/2 kg sirloin, thinly sliced
- 1/4 tsp freshly ground black pepper
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 6 pcs calamansi, juiced
METHODS
- Saute` onion in 2 tbsp. of vegetable oil until light golden brown. Set aside.
- Season sirloin with pepper. Sear sirloin until golden brown and set aside.
- Add oil and saute` garlic in the same pan. Add seared beef, soy sauce, and sugar. Barely cover with water and simmer until tender. Once tender, let the sauce reduce.
- Add calamansi juice and add sauteed onion. Serve.
